How to rent a Room?

Some Tips to consider on how to rent a room:

  • Always offer the Rent inclusive of all bills. It will be hard to determine consumption of common facilities by each tenant when you are to offer a room for rent.

  • Look at local papers and Common Notice Boards to determine the average rent for a room similar to the room you are to rent.

  • Place your 'Room to Rent' ads over the weekend with local newspapers and get it posted on  Public Notice Boards and with Local Corner Shops.

  • Choose your renter by using your intuition when you are to rent a room.

  • Be prepared to ask questions about where the renter works, lives currently, contact details and also their family details in terms of Emergency.

  • Be Clear with all your conditions - the Do's and Do Nots on renting your room.

  • Collect your rents weekly - on their pay day will be best.
